Big Ideas from Tiny Creatures

Inspiration is right outside your door. Welcome to the place where we blend Nature’s know-how with your activities and ideas. We should talk if you are…

• a classroom or school looking to meet important
environmental standards

• a company looking for insight into the profitability of
your business strategy by studying its analog in nature

• interested in any of the services offered below

What We Do

  • Interactive Lectures

Lectures at schools, institutions and cocktail parties. We give riveting talks for any occasion, and also have some very popular lectures, including Inhuman Nature in Human Nature, Pardon the Ants in your Garden and Plants, Look Insane, Be Kind, Talk Science.

  • School Visits

We can customize school visits and offer actives like a bug show, hands-on projects and nature walks. Wherever we end up, there are countless creatures to observe and study. Students won’t protect what they don’t love, and can’t love what they don’t know.

  • Consulting

Need to get a certain shot? Trying to schedule around a seasonal, natural event? Give us a shout. Our years of experience give almost any arthropod-based project a better chance of success.

  • Climate Classes

Short, extracurricular hands-on experiences for kids that include an environmental project that gives kids the skills to make a positive impact on the world and, in some cases, make a positive impact during the course of the climate class.

  • Bug Birthday Parties

Bring live insects to birthday parties and other venues. For kids, this can be learning about the bugs and practicing gentle hands. We can also go over the needs of individual insects and help kids learn about what it means to assume responsibility for another life.

  • Gardening Classes

Gardening teaches kids something valuable in their lives, and fortifies them for science class in school, because projects are standards -aligned and relevant to what they’re learning.

  • Nature Walks

Let’s take a stroll! Sometimes the best way to appreciate nature is to put yourself right in the middle of it. And whether you live out in the country or smack dab in the city, there is plenty to see. Nature is ubiquitous, and our sense of connection to it easy to (re)kindle. Let’s see what jaw-dropping phenomena are right outside.

Earth Dwellers

“You can’t ask someone to protect what they don’t love, and you can’t ask someone to love what they don’t know.”
